Moraga School District ranks 902nd out of 905 school districts in state per-pupil funding, making our schools critically underfunded. Painful teacher layoffs and devastating classroom cuts are coming without a local funding solution.

That’s why we need Measure I. It guarantees 100% local control, so every penny stays in Moraga and cannot be taken by the State. Measure I funds will attract and retain highly qualified teachers, continue funding for effective academic programs, and maintain manageable class sizes.

The measure is temporary, has a 7-Year Sunset, and requires mandatory fiscal accountability, including annual independent audits and citizens' oversight. Seniors 65 and older and low-income residents are eligible for a Measure I exemption.
